The Sandvik Coromant CoroDrill Delta-C R840 series jobber length drill bit is made from solid carbide with a TiN coating and has a 118-degree point for use in general-purpose drilling applications on ferrous and nonmetallic materials. Solid carbide is harder than high-speed or cobalt steel, provides longer tool life at higher speeds, and produces close-tolerance holes in hard materials. The titanium nitride (TiN) coating offers increased wear resistance, extended tool life, and higher hardness than an uncoated drill bit. The 140-degree point has a point geometry that easily regrinds to restore its cutting edges and is recommended for small part machining. This jobber length drill bit has a versatile midrange drilling depth of 4 or 5 times its diameter and is a common choice for general-purpose applications. The round shank accommodates most drill chucks. The drill bit conforms to Deutsches Institut für Normung (DIN) 1899 standard, and the round shank conforms to DIN 6535 HA standard.
